
Heri Bomani.
Schooled in Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, and finally graduating with a BSC Economics degree from Cardiff Business School at the University of Wales in the UK, Heri has since returned to Tanzania where he has built a career in banking. Currently Heri heads up KCB a wholly owned subsidiary of Kenya Commercial Bank which is East Africa's biggest regional bank with assets in excess of USD2 billion. In Tanzania Heri has turned around the business which in the two years under his helm has been re-branded, turned profitable after years of loss making, has seen its balance sheet as defined by total assets increase over threefold, and is now arguably Bank of choice for regional and local corporates.
Prior to KCB, Heri spent 11 years at British multinational bank, Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Limited. In the first half of his stint at Standard Chartered, Heri consolidated his career in Corporate Banking before assuming the role of Head of Retail Banking and being appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank where he served for three years. As Retail Director, Heri led the way in building a strong retail franchise that took the Tanzania market by storm with its innovative product range, modern distribution outlets, and superior service offering.
Heri is also a music entrepreneur and founded Red Promotions Ltd. which is the region's first music and brand activation company offering services in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, and with a plan to rollout to over 10 countries in the next 2 years. Red Promotions has a strong reputation for hosting innovative, fun and high engaging events featuring high profile international artists, and provides unique opportunities for African musicians to work across the continent. Recently Heri has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Civil Society. The Foundation is a leading NGO in Tanzania with a focus on capacity building for civil society.
